Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson had an upbeat message he delivered at the Okotoks Chamber Luncheon on Wednesday.

He says residents will get through this recession.

"Stick and stay and make it pay, " he said. "We are in a good position now we are going to slowly turn the corner here in Alberta."

"All the folks in Highwood are sticking together and we will get through this."

Anderson adds the leadership from the local mayors and the MD of Foothills is also helping.

"We are going to keep helping people move forward with more programs, information or any assistance we can give to get through this recession."

Organizations like the Chamber are also important for recovery.

"They are a direct line right to the business, they are the artery."

He says he also thinks a change of government in 2019 would help.

"We will bring back the Alberta Advantage, I'm definitely going to be part of that."
