The Town of Okotoks is ready for residents to get involved in winter programming.

They recently released their Winter Activity and Resource Guide which has programs for everyone from children to seniors.

Janette Messer, Community Program Coordinator for the Town of Okotoks, says some programs fill up faster than others.

"Our aquatics options fill up really, really fast. We do have a little bit of flexibility with some of our dry land options but certainly if you're looking to register a child in a swimming program don't wait too long after the registration start time."

Messer says residents have a chance to try out certain programs for free.

"We're kicking off the new year with fitness and dance demo classes. This is the perfect opportunity for anybody to try out programs from Abs and Arms to Zumba for free, then register for the class. It's like trying on a pair of shoes before you buy, just making sure they're a good fit for you."

Registration for winter community programs starts Dec. 5 at 6 a.m. for Okotoks and MD of Foothills residents.

Winter swim program registration will open Dec. 6 at 6 a.m. for Okotoks and MD of Foothills residents.

Non resident registration for both winter community and winter swim programs opens Dec. 13 at 6 a.m.
