A tragic end to a standoff in Pincher Creek over the weekend.

The RCMP had spent most of Saturday, February 25 and Sunday, February 26 surrounding a home in the town, where they say an armed man had barricaded himself inside.

After several hours, emergency response team members entered the home and found the man deceased.

His identity will not be released, and the death is not considered suspicious.

No shots were fired by the RCMP during the standoff.
