The town of Okotoks took part in the RBC Sports day in Canada yesterday. The town hosted a number of free sports activities throughout the day. Programs and Events Manager Janette Messer describes the day as a way of giving back to the community to have fun.

"One of the things that we like to do is provide opportunities for healthy activity in the community." Messer says.

Activities ranged from basketball, to zoomba, and Pickle Ball. Events took place at the rec centre as well as the Crescent Point Regional Field House.

Messer says "The intent of activities like this is to allow people in the community access to a variety different sports."

The day started out at the recreation centre with floor hockey with mayor Bill Robertson.

"Mayor Robertson has been a huge supporter of activities we have here at the rec centre."
