SHHH!

Usually it's no noise in the library, but this week the Okotoks Library is adding some melody to the mix.

Patron Amnesty week runs from Dec. 4th - 10th and the Okotoks Library is giving you a 50% break on your late fees. If you're bold or want to erase your entire fee amount they have a different tune for you to sing.

Michelle Walther - Children's Programming Director and Library Clerk says the Library is willing to forgive your entire amount for a musical price.

"You can reduce your entire fees, have them all waived if you sing us a song." Walther says "We have a karaoke machine and so the words of course are there, and the music that accompanies it."

Walther says you don't have to perform by yourself, and you can invite your friends or family.

"So you can sing a song, just you or your family or whoever you want to, and we'll waive your entire fee."

Patron Amnesty won't apply to lost or damaged fines, but is a fun and friendly way to give library users a break, during one of the most stressful seasons.

A library card is also a great gift for the bookworm on your shopping list, so enjoy some karaoke, good reads and get some shopping done all at the same time this week.
