While foodies get their appetites ready for the Taste of Okotoks, local establishments are already at work getting ready to showcase their special flavours.

Vendors from all types of cuisine will fill the streets, hoping for the approval of their current and future patrons.

Mark Frank, Owner of The George Traditional House says the Taste Of Okotoks is a very rewarding event for not just his business, but all the other dedicated local restaurants that serve Okotoks.

"For all the businesses it does showcase a few things that they can do," he says. "For the community, I think predominately, you have some great businesses that support this town and I think that's the main thing, to support this town."

Frank is keeping a lid on the secret ingredients and line-up for his stand for Taste of Okotoks, and his kitchen staff are already preparing for Saturday's showcase.

"Its always a lot of work," he says. "We enjoy coming down to taste of Okotoks, but the kitchen is already preparing, their preparing for it and working hard, it's a lot of extra work for our kitchen staff."

Frank says that no matter your food preference during the event, he hopes that locals will get out and support the businesses in town that go that extra mile for the community.

"Probably see 19 or 20 vendors down there, it's a lot of extra work for us," he says. "What you'll see are these people, they are the ones that are the givers, they'll give back to the community, they'll try to help the community, and they're proud of the community, you should take note of who's down there."

Taste of Okotoks runs from 10 a.m Saturday to 3 p.m.
