The Sheep River Health Trust received a large donation this morning.

Foothills Century 21 presented a cheque for $5,000 to representatives of the trust.

Sheep River Fund Development Officer Tanya Thorn says it won't be the last donation the trust receives from the realty company.

"They've made a three year commitment with us to be supportive of health and wellness programming in the Foothills region," he says.

Thorn says Century 21 has been a huge supporter of the trust for many years.

"So we approached them about being a health champion, and making a long-term commitment with us, and a consistent amount. Blair Gordon and the other realtors at Century 21 thought it was a perfect fit for them. They believe wellness in our region is a primary objective."

She says the money will definitely be put to good use.

"The trust does a lot of proactive stuff, so we're not dealing with the reactive side of health care. We look for programming that is benefiting our citizens and improving their health."

The donation comes just a month before their annual Radiothon with the Eagle 100.9, which will take place on Apr. 21 at Okotoks Sobeys.
