Now that the Salvation Army's Christmas Kettle Campaign is up and running, they're going to need some help.

According to Lieutenant Kelly Fifield they're having trouble finding people in Okotoks to help them man their kettles.

"We just need to spread the word. If people know people, even in High River, willing to drive to Okotoks or if people have contacts in Okotoks and they're looking for volunteer opportunities this Christmas. Get them to call us and we'd love to hook them up with a shift. They're just two hour shifts, it's not a whole lot of time. But we're just really looking for some contacts there."

She says because there's no Salvation Army presence in Okotoks anymore it's become tougher to get folks there to come and help out.

She says it gets better as the season moves along because people see the kettles out and think to go volunteer for a shift or two, but she says she'd like to see more people out right from the start.
