The 3rd annual Rabbit Run and Bunny Dash took place in Okotoks on Saturday morning!

Even the weather cooperated, as the shine shined on the river paths where the races took place.

Sarah Gauthier, a volunteer for Team in Training says there was 3 events in total.

"We've got a bunny dash, which is a more like a sprint and for the younger kids, and then we have the 5K, and the 15K runs." Gauthier adds "All of the proceeds are to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society."

Every year the Rabbit Run gets a little bigger, as word about the event gets out.

Gauthier says this year they saw quite a few participants.

"We had about 100 people show up, so that's pretty good! We keep getting more and more people each year. This is the 3rd year we've been doing this now, and it's all to raise funds to find a cure and go towards research."

If you want to participate next year, Gauthier has some advice on training.

"You gotta start out small and do what's comfortable for you." She says, "Start with walking and build up from there. When I started running I did running for a minute and walking for a minute, and you just have build and build and build some more, until you get more comfortable with it."

The children participating in the bunny dash received medals and Easter loot bags as they ran through the finish line.
