High River's Little Britches Weekend is all set for May 21-22, but Saturday's parade route will be a bit shorter this year. Little Britches Parade Chairman Hank Leeferink says they will turn down 5 Ave to avoid construction in town.

"We're working with the town, BSEI, Shawnee Construction, and also ATCO, and we've determined that the parade route will now turn at the Wales Theatre or 5th, go past Rexall, and then on Macleod Trail back. We've taken out about four blocks."

Brant Lake Wagyu also made a generous donation of beef for Saturday's beef on a bun in George Lane Park, which Leefrink says will allow the River of Music to add a Sunday event.

"(They've) stepped right up and just said here we go we'll help you the best we can. So, that freed up money from the parade, us to help with the Sunday event as well. So we all try to help each other and that was a great gift."

Leeferink says the River of Music will have their Saturday event with buskers throughout downtown High River, and the Sunday event will be held from 11am - 4pm in George Lane Park. The Little Britches Parade will begin at 10 am on Saturday, followed by beef on a bun.
