With the May long weekend here, the Canada Border Services Agency is reminding travellers of restrictions in place.

The restrictions put into effect in March remain in place at all of Canada's international border crossings.

The measures were implemented to restrict non-essential travel in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.

This includes travel that's based around tourism, recreation, and entertainment by air, land, rail, and marine.

The CBSA also recently announced the opening of the Chief Mountain border crossing, located in Southern Alberta, has been delayed as a precaution due to the pandemic.

It will remain closed until international travel restrictions are lifted.

More information on border crossings and the restrictions due to COVID-19 can be found here.
