With the Provincial Election only days away, Albertans have already turned out to vote in record-breaking fashion.

According to Elections Alberta, a record number of Albertans have cast ballots at advanced polls ahead of Tuesday's election.

The agency says over 403,000 people turned out in the first three days of advanced polling from April 9th to 11.

The previous record for early voting was set in 2015 when Rachel Notley's NDP came to power, when 235,000 Albertans voted.

The new record easily beats the 2015 mark, nearly doubling the 2015 advanced polling numbers in just the first three days alone. Numbers still haven't been reported for the last two days of advanced polling.

Advanced polling gives Albertans an opportunity to vote at any polling station across the province, as opposed to Election Day, when voters must vote at their local polling station.
