One school is nearing capacity while another has plenty of room.

That's the scenario facing Foothills School Board trustees looking at High River's Spitzee and Joe Clark schools.

Assistant superintendent Drew Chipman says they'll hold a public meeting to talk about what they can do.

"Well, the challenges are we have one school that's over 90 per cent capacity and we have one school 68 per cent capacity so we think it makes sense to balance those out but we're going to have that conversation with parents and staff and the community February 4 at 7 p.m. at the Highwood Golf and Country Club," he says.

Chipman says they want to make sure students are placed in the best learning spaces possible and being on a stage or having limited access to the gym and learning commons because of the number of student affects learning so they want to be mindful of that and look at some options and get feedback from the community.

He says there are no boundaries changes at this point and no decisions have been made in that regard.
