On Thursday evening around 11 PM in High River, a youth was walking home in the area of 11th Ave, and 14 Street SE.

RCMP say he was in the green space behind the local Peavey Mart when he was grabbed from behind and punched in the face, subsequently throwing him to the ground.

The attacker then continued to hit the youth while reaching for his wallet.

Fortunatley, the youth eventually broke free and made a run for home.

Cst. Stacey Campbell with the High River RCMP says this serves as a reminder to all Foothills residents to remain vigilant at all times when walking alone, and to mind your own personal safety.

In this instance the minor was able to return home after being attacked, and suffered only minor injuries.

The suspect is described as follows.

  • Caucasian Male
  • 6'2, medium build with ear length hair (Unknown Colour)
  • Was wearing a black, half balaclava, gloves and black hoodie with the hood up
  • Dark blue Jeans, with white and blue shoes
