Strathmore RCMP are investigating after an armed robbery at the 7- Eleven located on Highway 1  left several people terrified.

Just after 2 a.m. on June 17, 2017, Strathmore RCMP were called  after two males entered the convenience store, one was armed with a long barrelled rifle.

The rifle was pointed at the customers and staff and the male demanded cash and cigarettes.

Once the staff member had provided cash and cigarettes, the robber discharged the firearm twice inside the store in the general direction of the staff member.

The shots did not hit the staff member and no one was physically injured during this incident.

The males then fled the scene in a waiting vehicle.

Police are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the persons involved in this crime.
