On June 25 a man entered the High River Co-op grocery store and passed a counterfeit Canadian $50 bill to one of the cashiers.

High River RCMP are requesting assistance to identify the male.

Cst. Stacey Campbell says that in June there was a rash of counterfeit bill investigations open.

"This was one that landed on my desk; the fellow passed a very obvious counterfeit Canadian Bill."

Cambell adds that thanks to the Co-op having a good surveillance system the RCMP have a good picture to show to the public and a good description of the man in the picture.

"He is around 5'10 in height, with a short beard and appears to be in his twenties."

While there were multiple counterfeit investigations in June, the police are not sure if this incident is related to any others.

"One of the other occurrences could be related, but we are not sure at this point in time."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the High River RCMP at 403-652-2357 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
