The province reported on Sunday that three more lives have been claimed by COVID-19.

This brings the total number of deaths due to the virus in Alberta to 23.

The deaths were reported in the Calgary, Central, and North zones with a total of 14 deaths in the Calgary zone, four in the Edmonton zone, four in the North zone, and one in the Central zone.

A total of 106 cases have been confirmed at continuing care facilities.

In Alberta, there has been 1,250 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported with an additional 69 cases included in that total on Sunday.

Forty-eight people are in hospital with 13 of those admitted to intensive care units.

Of the total number of cases, 152 are believed to have been acquired through community transmission.

According to the government, positive laboratory rates remain consistent at two per cent with 63,115 people tested for the virus and a total of 64,806 tests performed by the lab.

The number of confirmed recovered cases now sits at a total of 279.
