The Town of Okotoks is encouraging residents to get involved in local programming this fall.

The upcoming season features popular returning programs like swim lessons and cooking classes as well new ones for both children and adults.

Donna Racette, client services manager at the Okotoks Recreation Centre, says the fall is the Town's busiest registration time.

"The fall and the winter are the ones are probably the ones that offer the most variety of activities. Often the instructor to student ratio is smaller so the class sizes and the number of participants that we're table to take in each of the classes is smaller so often the pre-school programs do fill-up quickly."

Racette says the community guide also acts as a great resource for those who are new to the community.

"Not only is there information about all the programs but at the front of the guide we have fairly lengthy community resource listings so it's a great resource about town services and other organizations within the community as well."

Registration for fall programming opens for Okotoks and MD of Foothills residents Thurs. at 6:00 a.m., then Aug. 18 for non-residents.

To register call (403) 938-8954, stop by the Okotoks Recreation Centre, or go online.
