Old power poles will be replaced in town over the next couple of days.

Crews will be working along Elma Street, between Veterans Way and Northridge Drive.

Communications Administrator Melanie Heemeryck says, Fortis Alberta is in charge of the project.

"Fortis Alberta will be replacing aging pole infrastructure along Elma Street, between Veterans way, which is Centre Avenue and Northridge Drive."

Heemeryck says residents in this area will have very minor disruptions while the work is being done.

"There will be minor parking disruptions that can be expected while workers safely replace the overhead power infrastructures. Residents in this area should watch and pay attention to temporary no parking zones while this work is underway."

The replacement of the aged power poles will take place April 12th and 13th and work is expected to be finished by April 14th, weather permitting.
