Teachers and the Foothills School Board will be working together in the fall to spend almost one million dollars.

The money is the Foothills School Divisions share of the classroom improvement fund to help students that was part of the settlement with the teachers wage negotiation in May.

Drew Chipman, assistant superintendent of corporate services, says they will be meeting soon to start planning.

"It probably won't get finalized until the fall just because of the time lines," said Chipman.

Chipman said the teachers put together a committee last week and are now talking to other teachers to figure out the best use of the extra funding.

"Now they are collecting some information on what some of those requests might be and we will sit down with them and we are going to do our best to make sure all those dollars are spent to the benefit of students in the Foothills School Division."
