The numbers are in from this year's Jerseys and Jeans Okotoks Minor Hockey Association Fundraiser.

About 600 people attended the fourth annual event and organizers estimate that just over $52,000 dollars was raised.

The host for the evening was well-known sports broadcaster Mike Richards. The fundraiser featured a live and silent auction, a fun money casino, dinner by Rollywood BBQ and dancing with music provided by a DJ.

Laurie MacDonald, who co-organized this year's event with Jenilee Delday Hemsing, says the evening was a success.

"Everybody that I've spoken to really enjoyed it, they had a lot of fun and they stayed late," MacDonald says. "There were good items in the auction, the food was fantastic."

The hard work of about 75 volunteers contributed to the event's success, which also raised $3,600 raised for the Humboldt Broncos.

Jenilee Delday Hemsing says a portion of the funds raised will go towards OMHA's commitment to the Pason Centennial Arena expansion and they're hoping the rest will be used for player and coach development programs.

Hemsing points out that they are grateful for the support they received from the community.

"We had tremendous community support," she says. "We are so thankful to everybody who sponsored and donated. Even the volunteers, we had a soccer team help us set up and take care of some of the security for the night. We had a Girl Guides troop who's going out East, their parents did 'keys please' for us, so drove people home. We liked the community feel and getting other groups involved in it."
