Got the Winter Blue's? Then it's a good time to start thinking about what you're going to do this spring/summer.

The annual Spring Parade of Programs got underway yesterday at the Okotoks Rec-Centre.

The Foothills Lions Rugby Club and F.I.T. Bootcamps were some programs in attendance offering registration and information.

Scott Freethy is the Junior Rugby Director for the Foothills Lions Rugby Club and he says one of the most asked questions he gets about his Rugby programs are questions of safety.

"well our program is for all ages and all people even Coed. We start from 6 years of age and we run all the way up to senior men and women's teams." Freethy says "Contact begins at 10 years of age so the focus with 10 and 11 year olds is teaching them proper technique for tackling another person, as well as taking a tackle to ensure that they don't get injured."

Janelle Halbert from Fast Intense Training was also there offering information and a prize draw for her bootcamp program.

She says she makes it easy for families to stay active together.

""FIT bootcamp is really a variety of bootcamps. I have mom and tot bootcamps, adult bootcamps, kids bootcamps, and I run it out of the Scott-Seaman Sports Rink and out of the Davisburg community centre." Halbert says she really focuses on family activities. "We vary our exercises so that we obviously get full body workouts but they're still fun for kids and families to do together."

If you missed the Parade of Programs at the Rec -Centre you can still find all of the information and register yourself or family members online by clicking here to be redirected to the Town's community programs page.
