Outdoor enthusiasts will now have improved access to more than 150 kilometres of non-motorized trail in Bragg Creek and Kananaskis Country.

The greater Bragg Creek Trail Association, in partnership with the Government of Alberta, have completed a 7.5 km trail that connects the hamlet of Bragg Creek to the West Bragg Creek Provincial Recreation area.

It also extends the great trail, east to Calgary, creating the world's longest network of recreational trails.

The trail will provide access to the Bragg Creek Provincial Park, Kananaskis Country, Calgary, and a wide range of protected natural areas, intended for hikers, joggers, low-speed cyclists, cross-country skiers, and horseback riders.

Visitors to the area have quadrupled over the past eight years, resulting in a much needed upgrade that also alleviates parking issues and improve emergency access.
