An open house is set for Monday aternoon for Foothills MD residents who could be impacted by a new Inter-municipal Development Plan between the MD and the City of Calgary.

The land the city is looking at is on both the east and west sides of Highway 2.

MD Reeve Larry Spilak says it's a big expansion.

"Now keeping in mind that this is just the Inter-municipal Development Plan, so the plan is to develop an Inter-municipal Development Plan first and then with-in that area will come the annexed lands," he says.

He urges everyone to come out and have a look at the drawings and give their input.

"This is actually in the infant stages, we've had a few discussions with the City of Calgary, they've come up with a bit of a concept plan as to what areas they would like included in the Inter-municipal Development area and this is our first opportunity to show the public the direction that Calgary would like to take," Spilak says. "Now we have not responded to this yet, we wanted to hear from our residents first."

The open house will be held Mon. June 22 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dewinton Hall. For more information click here.
