An Okotoks woman has been charged after a purse theft in Taber.

On Sept. 25, the Taber Police Service received a report of a customer's purse being stolen from a local A&W restaurant.

According to police the female suspect grabbed the purse from the victim as they were eating a meal, and proceeded to run from the store and flee the area in a waiting vehicle.

Following investigation, Kelsey Marks-Stanko was charged with one count of theft under $5,000, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On Oct. 3 she was arrested by the Calgary Police Service on the outstanding warrant and has since been released on recognizance.
