The 9th Annual Okotoks Women's Conference took place on Saturday.

Women from the community came together to experience a day that was focussed on them.

Caroline Bees with the Town of Okotoks says that she was excited about the event and the different activities the woman took part in.

"One of the highlights were women coming together and experienced eduction, fun, inspiration and fitness as a group," Bees says.

Women took part in an opening session, along with four group sessions of their choosing and a closing session.

The group sessions ranged from conference style lectures like Alisen Dopf's Confidence 101: Who's the Boss session, physical activity sessions like Tamara Boivins Pound class, and creative sessions like Crystal Salamon's Colouring with... Magic! session.

Crystal Salamon was also the key note speaker at the conference; she kicked everything off Saturday morning for the woman.

"Crystal started us off with a delightful journey of inspiration, giving her personal story that inspired us all and carried us through the day in a very exciting, very fun, very open way," Bees says.

Bees adds that the conference concluded with a drum circle, allowing participants to center themselves and connect at the end of the conference.

"Drumming is something most people have not experienced. Drumming with a group of woman is so much fun and steps us out of the norm, it is also an excellent way to rap up a wonderful day."
