Do any locals have any spare winter clothing lying around?

Because it's the perfect time to give them away as the Okotoks United Church Jacket Racket event is back for another season.

Denyse Geiger with the church says everyone can participate in the clothing exchange.

"The Okotoks United Church has been offering the program for several years now, it's a free winter clothing exchange and everyone is welcome...We run several afternoons and evenings where people can come in and go through adult clothing and children clothing and take whatever it is they may need."

People can start going through the clothing donations Saturday, October 22nd at the United Church in town.

Geiger says they accept anything that is offered but there are some departments they lack in.

"Well of course we accept anything that people are willing to donate to the program but we often have a shortage of men's jackets. We also accept mittens, scarves and footwear and we do often have men come in as well looking for winter boots or work boots for the winter so that would be where we lack the most."

There are multiple collection boxes at different business around town, including: Sobey's, Better Than Home Coin Laundry, Foothills Cleaners, Okotoks Rec Centre, Crescent Point Regional Fieldhouse and the United Church.

Below is a schedule of the times people can come and go through the donated clothing articles.
