At the Okotoks Art Gallery two exhibits are open.

The exhibit in the small gallery is called Crated and is by Canmore artist Pascale Oulelet.

Education Program Specialist Jaime-Brett Sine says that the Crated exhibit led to a very neat project opportunity for students in the Okotoks area to take part in.

"We are working with two different schools in the area that are coming in to create the exhibit in the large gallery called Uncrated," say Sine.

Students from Edison School and Percy Pegler Elementary took part in project.

The students got a sneak peak at Oulelet's exhibition as apart of their field trip to the museum and than started to do a print project with Sine.

Sine says that the students will sketch and interpret Oulelet's work.

"We will talk about the concepts behind the work, especially in relation to our relationship to our food as a consumer."

After talking about the work that they had seen in the small gallery the students headed over to the large gallery and started to create what would become the Uncrated Exhibit.

Students used a technique that they saw in Oulelet's work in their own art.

"Some of Pascals work is actually print making and the kids will get to use print making tools and learn the techniques to make their own prints," says Sine.

The Uncrated exhibit will run until January 23rd in the large gallery.
