Kyle Rozendal only moved to Okotoks a few years ago, and he's already left - for a pretty good reason.

Rozendal will be in Toronto for the next few months, competing to win Big Brother Canada season eight.

The 31-year-old electrician / body-builder has been a fan of the show for so long, it actually helped build his relationship with his wife Claudia. The couple and their two kids moved to Okotoks to be a little closer to family.

Rozendal nearly made it through the casting process for the sixth season, but ultimately missed the cut. Claudia says that was probably a blessing in disguise.

"The theme this year is super-sized, and Kyle is an eccentric, super dude," she said. "This year he just flew through the entire (casting) process. They knew they wanted him, it was almost a sure thing as soon as we hit apply in August."

Big Brother sticks 16 house-guests from across Canada in one house for 12 weeks. The contestants compete in challenges to earn rewards and immunity. At the end of the show, the sole remaining player earns a $100,000 prize.

Claudia says it's the social aspect of the game where her husband will shine.

"I think he'll be kind of running the show in the background because of the relationships he'll have," she said. "He's already told me he's never going to stop playing in the house."

In particular, she says Rozendal is the type of person who gets along with everybody.

"His best allies in life, he just gets along with outcasts," Claudia said. "His plan going into the house is to rally the non-dominant alpha people, even though you might judge him that way."

She encourages Okotoks residents to do their part to help Kyle out. The show, which premieres on March 4, is hosting a vote for the first immunity reward on the Big Brother website.
