The RCMP presented their annual performance plan to Okotoks Town Council on April 23rd.

The A.P.P includes a combination of mandatory provincial and local recommendations and is in is in place from April 1,2018 until March 31,2019.

Tanya Thorn, Town Councillor, says its intent is to blend provincial and local priorities regarding public safety matters.

"it's a strategic blend of provincial and local priorites, and it's intended to reflect the public safety priorities of our community." said Thorn.

This year's provincial priorities include crime reduction and employee wellness, while the local priority presented in the plan is enhanced visibility, and came as a recommendation from the Public Security and Safety Committee.

"Public Security and Safety Committiee made a recommendation to council that the third priority be enhanced visibility." said Coucillor Thorn.

Council is still awaiting information on last year's A.P.P.

Going forward, RCMP will work to develop and implement strategic initiatives surrounding the priorities chosen for this year's plan.
