The Okotoks Pro Rodeo wrapped up for another year with final rodeo events held yesterday afternoon.

This year, the rodeo was held outside at the Okotoks Agricultural Society grounds and rodeo enthusiast Kelly Hogan says the event was even better outdoors.

"It's perfect, it's the way rodeo should be," she points out. "It's not meant to be inside, so I hope they continue to do this because it's excellent out here."

Okotoks Pro Rodeo Marketing Director Trevor Reidy agrees, saying the feedback they received from visitors over the weekend was overwhelmingly positive. He says the weather co-operated and he feels the decision to move the events outdoors worked out great.

"The whole board of directors is just overjoyed with the way everything went," Reidy says. "And probably should have moved outdoors five or six years ago, that's how well it's gone. The crowds are awesome, the people were having a great time last night, there was lots of noise. We really are happy with the way it's turned out."

Crowds at the Okotoks Pro Rodeo were treated to a full slate of professional rodeo events, including ladies barrel racing, saddle bronc, team roping and steer wrestling.
