The Okotoks Lions Club made a generous donation to the Okotoks Food Bank Monday night.

$3253.76 was raised during their pancake breakfast at Saturday's Spirit of Okotoks Parade.

Lions Campground manager and member Pauline Krause says the Food Bank helps every family in need and does so much for the community.

"The Food Bank takes in and caters to everyone. It's not just an individual group or person, it's basically available to all who are in need," she says. "Since there's so many who have lost jobs and there's people from Fort McMurray living here, all of that plays a part."

With supplies usually on the low side during the summer months, Krause says every donation helps keep shelves stocked.

"The Food Bank for the Lions has always been one of our major charities we donate to yearly, not just now but through Christmas time and it is one of our main places to donate to because it is such a worthy cause and people use it all the time."
