The Okotoks Garden club held there third annual plant share Saturday.

The event is hosted by the club as not only a way to encourage plant sharing in the community but also a fund raiser.

Garden club president Lori Neufeld believes that the event is a great way build awareness of what the garden club does.

"It's a way for the Garden Club to reach out to the community and share the bountiful harvest."

People dig up their perennials from there gardens and bring them to the event where they are checked in and labelled.

"They can exchange them for other perennials that people bring, and there is also the opportunity for members of the community to by and purchase perennials," Neufeld says.

The perennials can be purchased for $2 a plant as a fundraiser.

Neufeld says that the money is going towards three local charities.

"It's a fundraiser for the Okotoks Garden Club, the Foothills Country Hospice and the Okotoks Healthy Coalition."
