Those with donations for victims of the Kenow wildfire have a drop off location in Okotoks.

Susan Kleinsasser has offered her home to act as a donation drop off spot.

Kleinsasser's a part of the Facebook group Calgary and Area Helps which has recently applied for non-profit status.

For first responders they're looking for water, Gatorade, protein and granola bars. For evacuees they're needing non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and school supplies and backpacks for children.

Kleinsasser says the response has been great and there's plans for any donations that aren't needed in the Waterton region.

"It's been excellent, I actually have a dining room full of Gatorade right now... anything that's leftover that the firefighters don't need here will be heading to BC."

The Nanton Fire Department received an overwhelming response with donations on Tuesday and are now full and will be taking the donations from Kleinsasser's house to those in need in the near future.

She says it's amazing to see the community continue to support those going through a difficult time.

"There's been so many disasters in the world and I think people have hit 'disaster fatigue' I call it. It's just nice to see that when the call to action comes our own people, our own neighbours, step up to the plate," she explains. "With Calgary and Area Helps you know that whatever you donate's going directly to the people that need it."

Items can be dropped off anytime at her house located on 145 Woodbend Way.
