Friday at the Okotoks Rec. Center a morning full of snacks, games and crafts was had.

The Easter Bunny party was full of fun activities for the young ones to bring in the spring holiday.

Recreational Programmer Janis Coughlan says its a wonderful way to get the kids excited for Easter.

"We've got bouncy castles and all sorts of fun things in the gym and we've got crafts going on and it ends off with an Easter story. The most popular thing is our bouncy castle, they like that the kids can run around in the gym and of course our cookie decorating is a big hit."

Along with various activities for the children there was a children's wellness booth for parents that may need help.

Joyce Kooistra, Network Navigator of Foothills Children Wellness Network says these events are important for reaching out to families.

"My role as navigator is to help families find information services or resources specifically connected to raising little ones. Throughout the foothills there are a number of different agencies and services and programs that can help families and often they are not even aware of them. So we are out just trying to share the information and help people raise happy, healthy families."

The event is held every March and brings out around 100 different local families every year.
