The Okotoks Chamber of Commerce and its members braved the cold, rainy weather on Wednesday, Sept. 13 hitting the greens at Crystal Ridge for a fundraising tournament.

Every year, the Chamber gives out two scholarships, one for the public school board and one to the Catholic school board, each worth $250.

The scholarships will be awarded to students entering a business administration, or business program.

Andrea Glowatsky, Director of the Okotoks Chamber of Commerce says they reached their fundraising goal of $500.

"We got our goal which was great, and everyone had fun doing it too," she says. "The day went fantastic, unfortunate about the weather but that didn't stop us from having a lot of fun, and raising funds for our scholarship."

Glowatsky says about 60 golfers participated, adding events like this are great for networking.

"It gives business owners, and employees a chance to come out, mingle, get to know each other a bit better, work together, and find new partnerships in the community."

Glowatsky also wants to send a big thank you to all volunteers who braved the cold to make the tournament a big success.
