The Okotoks and District Chamber of Commerce Trade and Lifestyle Show will have an interesting twist this year, with a candidate forum for the upcoming Provincial election.

Jayme Hall, Executive Director for the Okotoks and District Chamber of Commerce, says this is something the Chamber does each time there is an election.

"Every time there is an election of some kind, it's part of the Chamber's due diligence to host a candidate forum. We weren't really given much time to prepare, there was only about three of four weeks before the election after it was announced," he said.

Hall says residents are asked to submit questions for the candidates ahead of time.

"We are asking that people pre-submit questions, we will have a moderator there to help lead the discussion. Submit a few questions so we can ask them to the candidates that will be present. We are really looking forward to it, I think it's going to be really interesting. It's interesting times here in Alberta, and it's always interesting when you have an election coming up," he said.

Hall confirmed that Highwood's UCP Candidate, RJ Sigurdson, and Alberta Independence Party's, Dan Irving will be attending. They are awaiting conformation from the Alberta Party's Ron Kerr, and NDP Candidate, Eric Overland is unable to attend.

The forum will take place Friday, April 12th from 7 to 8:30 p.m at the Okotoks Recreation Centre in the Piper Arena in conjunction with the Chamber's Trade and Lifestyle Show.
