Wednesday marked National Museum Day and the Okotoks Museum and Archives opened their summer exhibit.

The exhibit is called Lost Okotoks and runs from May-October.

Museum Specialist Kathy Coutts says you get to see different parts of Okotoks you didn't know existed.

"It's a look back at some of the businesses and services that don't exist anymore in Okotoks."

Coutts adds some of these businesses either are no longer around du

e to being destroyed by a fire, being torn down, or becoming obsolete.

A variety of businesses were chosen to show the diversity of the towns history.

"A couple of my favourites are the millinery, the creamery and also the Livery Stable," Coutts says.

This unique exhibit had a few hurdles to go through until the final product came to be.

"The challenge of this exhibit was turning a century old home into what a street scape would have looked like until around 1920."

The exhibit also presents modern features like a video on how a mill works and a TV showing maps of Okotoks and how the town has changed.
