The largest attended BMX event in Alberta took place at the Okotoks BMX track this past weekend as the hosted the 2018 Provincial Grands.

Trudy Andres, Club President, says this was the biggest event ever hosted in Okotoks, with registered riders exceeding any count in Alberta.

"There was 661 registered riders, and their families and fans. It was the biggest attended race in all of Alberta," she said.

Andres says the event took about a year to plan and execute, and wouldn't have been possible without the help of volunteers and parents.

"The volunteers and people are our club, they were so great. They did so much work, everyone from our club just stepped in and helped out, it was amazing. It's a good club with good people and good kids in it," she said.

Families and fans of the riders gathered at the track this past Saturday and Sunday to watch their favourite riders compete for a piece of the $10,000 prize pot.
