There is currently a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for the Okotoks area and M.D. of Foothills.

Environment Canada says we can expect a few storms in the area.

Each of which is capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain.

Intense lightening is likely with any thunderstorm, and severe storms can produce tornadoes.

If you are in a situation where you're enjoying Canada Day outdoors, keep an eye on sky and have a plan to go indoors, just in case.
