Okotoks is on the list of 95 Alberta municipalities benefiting from nearly $31.9 million in funding for upgrades and improvements to seniors' facilities.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, June 2nd, by Infrastructure Minister Prasad Panda and other federal and provincial ministers.

360 projects to upgrade senior and family housing are being funded through the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.

The federal government is contributing $25.6 million, with the provincial government adding another $6.4 million.

Those upgrades include air conditioning, heating, security, and fire systems.

Additionally, 180 jobs are expected to be created through these infrastructure projects.
