Holy Trinity Academy graduate Dawson Lane said it best; "We weathered the storm!"

It seems like most Okotokians have weathered the crazy hailstorm.

After enduring golf ball sized hail, rain and wind that exceeded 100 km/h Okotokians are left with a lot of hail to shovel, flooding in the streets and detached tree branches.

Though Alberta is used to unpredictable weather Resident Janeil Mcfarlane said what was odd was how long the storm lasted.

"I've never seen a storm of that magnitude, it's never lasted that long. We were just waiting, eventually the drains cleared up and the water started to flow and since then we've been doing a lot of shoveling. But there's no water damage that we can find just lots of hail, lots and lots of it."

Cimarron Resident Kelly Houle said that though the storm was long no real damage was done to their belongings either.

"No damage really just a lot of hail, that's all. Had to shovel out the window wells because they were covered in hail. But looks pretty good all things considered, no damage to the siding, trees got demoed, and the flowers, but nothing you can't replace, not a costly thing...We've been here twenty years and we've never seen anything like it."

2016 HTA Graduate Dawson Lane said the wacky storm actually improved his grad BBQ his family planned for the evening.

"Actually the storm effected by party in a positive way, I have to say this is unforgettable weather so it's neat. We got to go out there and take pictures in the snow and it's something I will never forget, its really really funny and a special day and I'm really happy I got to be with my family for that."

The Lane family did have to move their vehicle because it was submerging due to the water levels but they too had no real damage.
