Another indicator of the tough times here in Alberta as Stats Canada has released manfacturing numbers for the last year.

The federal agency says manufacturing sales were down by 1.5-per cent nationally between December of 2014 and December of 2015.

In Alberta however, a 35.6-per cent decrease in sales of petroleum and coal products led to an overall drop of 13.7-per cent in the province.

Sales of machinery products fell 26.7-percent reflecting lower sales of oil and gas field machinery, a sub-industry that supplies companies in the oil and gas extraction sector.
