The Okotoks Art Gallery welcomes two artists this weekend.

Both galleries at OAG will have brand new pieces from Alberta artists starting Jan. 13.

Katrina Lougheed, Gallery Specialist, says Okotoks artist Manny Blair will take over the large gallery with his exhibit 'Pleasing Everybody All the Time'.

"It's a really neat exhibit, it's large scale pieces, very abstract, a little bit kitschy, he's kind of combined traditional kitschy fabrics and patterns with very blunt imagery as well." she says. "Very straight lines, sharp edges, he uses a combination of fabric and paint to combine his two styles."

The second artist, Daniel Evans of Edmonton will take over the small gallery with his exhibit 'Turgor'.

"He does large scale drawings, his theme is basically cities as organisms. He combines the human body with images of cities and buildings, it's a very neat fusion that he's got going on."

The art will be on display until Feb. 24, however interested residents can meet the artists on Saturday.

"They can come to our opening reception if they want to from 1 to 3 p.m., both artists will be in attendance for that."

The Okotoks Art Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
