Construction on Nanton's new waste water treatment plant is proceeding as it should.

Mayor Rick Everett says they're about a week off the pace thanks to the weather, but says residents who want to keep on eye on what's happening can do it from the comfort of their own homes.

"So, we have a camera up there, so anyone from the Town or anywhere else, can go on the Town website, and go through the camera and they can watch our plant being built. And we've done that so our citizens can understand what we're doing down there. So you can watch that anytime."

A large part of the foundation of the new $10 million dollar plant is already in place.

He says they're about a week behind on construction thanks to some of the thunderstorms that have rolled through the region over the last couple of months.

He says the rain isn't the problem, but the lightning, which poses a real danger for crews working on the all steel structure.

He says they're still very much on track for an opening in early 2017.
