Nantons' Mayor was quite happy to hear the town will be receiving Municipal Sustainability Initiative, or MSI funding this year.

Rick Everett, says it's a bit nerve wracking to see if the Province will come up with the money or not.

"We always sit every year and we wonder if we're getting it, or we're not getting it and it's a shame it has to be that way, it would be better if it was sustainable and you knew exactly what you were getting each year. And we would love more secure funding, but we sit on pins and needles. We're happy this time. We got a few thousand dollars more and it will definitely help our town out."

The Town will get $453,775, which is on par with what other area municipalities of around the same size will receive.

While $450,000 doesn't sound like a lot of money for a town of 2,500, Everett says they'll put every penny of it to very good use on infrastructure projects.

"We have some road repairs on this year that are in the $250,000-$300,000 mark, so we can do some things like that. You can do sidewalk repairs and make some changes to the sidewalk program. So there are a number of projects you can do. But in that case you try and keep them where you can do two or three projects within the allocated amount of dollars they give us."

Everett says council will decide what capital projects to put the money towards come October.
