A new, larger location means Missions thrift store in Okotoks is looking for more volunteers.

The store, formally known as Bibles for Missions, recently moved from their old 5,800 square foot location on Elizabeth Street to their new 17,400 square foot store on Stockton Avenue and is needing a few extra hands to help with the additional space.

Dale Attrill, manager of Missions, says there's different areas people can work in to suit their expertise.

"We are looking for people that want to be cashiers helping with customers up front in the retail area, we're always looking for people to work in sorting and pricing, stocking shelves and stuff like that... we're even looking for some people that want to help with cleaning," he says. "Everyone's got things they like to do and different talents and we've got a variety of different things that need to be done."

A time commitment of four hours per week is required from volunteers.

Attrill says those who donate their time to the store play a huge role.

"We have amazing people that volunteer their time. Without our volunteers it wouldn't work so the most important people are our volunteers and that's why we're looking for more so we can do a better job because not only do we supply money to the Bible League, we do a lot of benevolence right in our own community through helping people with whatever they may need if they've gone through a tough time."

Those who are interested in volunteering can visit the Missions website or call the store at (403) 995-8099.
