One Turner Valley Councillor will have a lot more responsibilities when it comes to the Calgary Regional Partnership.

Being a part of the board of directors for the past ten years, Dona Fluter will now represent the CRP as a director at large.

Fluter says she was one five members of the board elected into the position.

"Our responsibility then would be to go back to the board and making recommendations, bring back information to the board members for decision making," she says. "We don't make decisions at the executive level we make the recommendations go forward to the board members."

Fluter says she's ready to take on a little bit of a bigger role within what she already does with the CRP.

"I've accepted a little bit more responsibility in terms of time commitment. What it means of course to our community is just that much involvement if you will, but it doesn't really alter my responsibilities as a board member it was already there."

Fluter will towards more on the Regional Transportation side of things when it comes to the numerous committees within the CRP on top of her usually role.

"In this area we're trying to make that connection in the region and this isn't a short term undertaking it's a short, medium and long term visioning for transportation for our region so I really happy to be a part of that and this just allows me to probably get a little into it."

Members of the Executive Committee include Chair and Okotoks Mayor Bill Robertson, Vice- Chair and Chestermere Mayor Patricia Matthews along with Black Diamond Councillor Michael Jackson acting as secretary.
