Another discovery of bear scat in Okotoks has residents in the Tower Hill and Suntree areas concerned. 

This time the bear scat was found near the tennis courts and the Good Shepherd Elementary School.  

The Town of Okotoks Parks officials have verified the presence of a bear in the community, however no actual sightings of the bear were reported. 

If you see a bear or other predatory animal in town, you should call Alberta Fish and Wildlife's High River office at (403) 652-8330, after hours or in an emergency where the animal may be threatening safety, residents can contact the RCMP or 911.  

All bear sightings should also be called into the Town Parks department at (403) 938-8958. 

Alberta Fish and WIldlife recommends keeping garbage, compost and food products off the ground and in a secure location, this includes pet foods.

It may also be wise to keep pets on a leash in the area.
