Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson says 2018 will see the UCP party getting ready for yet another election.

Anderson says it seems like the party has been in campaign mode for a long time.

"I feel like we are in perpetual campaign mode," said Anderson. "With the unification vote and then the leadership vote and Jason Keeney's by-election that just happened. But I am glad and proud we have a great and strong caucus with our UCP folks."

The party is planning an Annual General Meeting in May and will nominate candidates to run in the 2019 election.

"I fully intend on running for one more term."

But before he gets ahead of himself Anderson is looking forward to working with everyone in the Spring Session of the legislature.

A few of the issues he wants to work on includes rural crime, jobs and the carbon tax.

"Rural Crime watch needs to become an issue. And obviously jobs and the economy and this crippling carbon tax. These are the things we have to focus on and hold this government accountable for."

Anderson add spending in the health care system also needs to be watched.
